What are the advantages and disadvantages of studying for an MBBS abroad from India? And what is the MCI screening test after completing an MBBS abroad?

MBBS from abroad, pros and cons depends upon the country of studies. If you are studying in countries. We usually divide countries in three categories

  1. English speaking countries: UK, USA, Canada, Australia & New Zealand

These countries are exempted from MCI SCREENING. One is not required to clear any screening to register as a medical practitioner and practice. USA being the cheapest offers package of 35 Lac including complete tuition fees, hostel and food. No entrance or IELTS REQUIRED

Disadvantage: Only disadvantage is distance from India

Advantages:

Respected and worldwide accepted degrees

Technologically advanced

no fees for speciality/pg

US Residency

Clinical rotation in Govt Hospitals

2. Non English speaking countries: China, Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, Armenia, Philippines etc

Disadvantages:

Language barrier during clinical internship. You will have extra burden of learning new language

MCI screening in India. Success ratio is very low

Medical standards doesn’t matches with Indian standards

Advantages

No entrance

3. Hinglish (English and Hindi) speaking countries: Nepal, Bangladesh and Mauritius

Mauritius is considered the best among these 3 because they are technologically advanced and have 100% success ratio in MCI screening because of Indian medical curriculum and colleges belongs to Indian management.

Nepal and Bangladesh are technologically obsolete. High fees but you will be a doctor for name not for quality. Medical entrance for admission in Nepal and no scope for direct admission.
